If somebody told me a year ago that today I will be a student at The London College of Style , learning how to be a fashion stylist and writing my first blog ever... I would be shocked.
Office plankton with regular monthly salary, medical insurance and more other benefits in the international company shifts to outer space where nobody can guarantee anything... - madness, some people would say, courage - more people called this. For me - it's a freedom, freedom to do what I want to do. I do believe if you are passionate about your work, you will definitely be successful. Doing something that really inspires you to wake up every morning is more important than being obliged to do the same for the guaranteed good monthly pay but without feeling inspiration inside.
It took me long time to find LCS , but finally here I am, studying Foundation course in Fashion Styling
This course gives ground knowledge important for beginner fashion stylists the first few classes that I've already had included history of fashion, starting from 1920s, body shape, colour analysis, customisation, etc and the most exciting part is a forthcoming photo shoot.
Our classes are not only sitting in the room, but getting an inspiration from visiting different places. One of them was the London Fashion and Textile museum - Thea Porter exhibition "70s Bohemian chic".
I am now getting ready for the first photo shoot on Pattern Clash. Firstly, I've had my mood board assessed and given an advice on the look to prepare for the shoot.
Finally, shopping is done and clothes are ready for the photo shoot. It's quite exciting to find out how is my chosen look going to fit a model...
To be continued.
